Hello! My name is Mandy Brown, and I am the Principal of Ruston Elementary School. Kathryn Causey our Coordinating Teacher, Dr. Shontrece Dupree our Curriculum Strategist, and Cindy Eaton our Interventionist make up the rest of our administrative team.

At RES we have a diverse population of 320 students serving grades 3-5 and a devoted faculty with a wide range of years of experience. Each grade level is made up of 2 teams. Team 1 includes a math teacher, an ELA teacher, and a science/social studies teacher. Team 2 includes an ELA/social studies teacher and a math/science teacher.

Everyone at Ruston Elementary is committed to teaching rigorous Tier I curriculum while following our school-wide discipline plan to ensure academic and behavioral student growth. We host a PBIS reward incentive parties each quarter.

There are many ways for students to get plugged into extracurricular events at Ruston Elementary. Some of these activities include : 4-H, AC/DC art, Accelerated Reader, boys’ and girls’ basketball teams, cheerleading, cheer mascot, cross country, and fitness team.

We have a strong school to home connection by offering numerous activities and special events throughout the year for parents to attend. Some of these include: All Pro Dad’s, Jump Rope for Heart, literacy fair, science fair, social studies fair, spelling bee, talent show, awards day, field day, quarterly AR rewards, and an art show each semester.

Community involvement takes a front seat at Ruston Elementary. We have cultivated strong relationships and support with our Adopt-a-School Partners. The dedication to public schools by Angela Mayfield, Blue Bell, Henderson Financial, Skip Russell State Farm, Temple Baptist, and Trinity United Methodist Church aid us in our successful journey.
